History of Mortal Kombat

Greetings ladies and gentlemen. In this blog we will dive a little into the creation of the not-so-little-known fighting game Mortal Kombat. I will touch on most aspects of the game, expressing everything in a form that is concise and understandable to the average person.

Even though I don’t have much experience in this area yet, people learn, that’s how it is?
Well, let’s get started..

Mortal Kombat 1 (1992)
The plot of the game was based on some mystery; the developers did not yet know what to expect from it. Thus, the first part was released in 1992, at this point in time it has been ported to almost all gaming devices, from Shogi to PS3. The plot of this part takes place in earthly conditions more or less known to us, inspired by the aesthetics of eastern countries.

Mortal Kombat 2 (1993)
Let’s skip sing-bingo-casino.co.uk over the second part, but note that in it the player was able to see another world, so there were no longer any restrictions on the imagination and creation of the terrain by the developers.

Mortal Kombat 3 (1995)
The third part brought what many people loved Mortal Kombat for, namely a large number of secrets and combinations. Remember the time when everyone broke their fingers trying to repeat them, and how can we forget those requests from a friend not to hit him while he was in a hurry trying out a new combination

The first way to create a game
Initially, the game was positioned as a clone of the then popular game street fighter 2. But they managed not only to catch up with their ancestors, but also to overtake them, trampling them into the ground. So much so that from everywhere you could only hear two words “mortal kombat”, and nothing more
The game itself is built according to the type of linear progression… At the first levels it gives in to you, and with each new level it becomes more trained, changing its algorithm. This principle is built in order to first interest the player, and then awaken passion in him, to complete it to the end. After all, who wants to lose at the very beginning on some difficult level?. This principle is used in almost all games.

How the game was developed
Sometimes people don’t even think about how much time it takes to develop characters and their costumes? What we are used to seeing ready-made on the screen. It all starts with simple pencil sketches on a piece of paper. A simple idea that pops into your head while eating your favorite lunch can be decisive for both creators and players.
How many of you know that the game positions itself as a TV series?. Yes, yes, you heard right – series. With its own plot and denouement. And don’t say you haven’t heard about Mortal Kombat movies. Well, indeed, they did not gain much popularity, but perhaps thanks to this the game got its chance to continue to exist. Its popularity came in the mid-90s, when few people had the opportunity to purchase the ill-fated Sega game console or the same dandy, at the sight of which schoolchildren had an attack. Therefore, gaming clubs gained popularity, to attend which one often had to give up lunch at school. But the risk to your health justified those hours spent at the computer or console.

Mortal Kombat 10 (2015)
It’s 2015, the 10th part of the game is coming out, there is a lot of excitement around it, because its trailer has reached the masses, everyone can’t wait to experience the new part, what it is, but unfortunately the game did not bring anything colossally new, except maybe a couple of new characters and slightly improved graphics. The same emotions that she brought in the years of her prosperity are no longer there. The game is a cult game for oldfags, it’s extremely difficult to get new people into it. Because this is already chewed candy with updated packaging, and nothing more. For PR of the game, the studio decided to release a free-to-play version of the game for smartphones, of course with reduced graphics, I think you understand how desperate this is, in order to attract new players. It is not exclusive, and rightly so, the developers tried to grab onto all platforms, just to please someone. My opinion is subjective and can always be challenged. But my eyesight doesn’t let me down, I don’t wear glasses.

Mortal Kombat 11
After 25 years, he is in a hurry to see his light and the 11th part of the mortal battle, which will be released on April 23, 2019. The developers promised us new character customization, which they always loved to work out in detail. And also update the graphics engine and make the next most epic storyline. Promises, there’s a promise. But they still need to be completed, let’s see what Nezrealm Studios can surprise us with, which several times departed from the creation of mortal kombat, working on other projects. But in the end it became the only studio developing this series.
