Strengthening Global Trade Through Strategic Delegations

As a strong advocate for international trade and investment, I have dedicated my career to forging meaningful connections between Australia, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). My work has been focused on creating opportunities for businesses to expand into new markets, engage in high-value collaborations, and contribute to the economic growth of multiple regions.
Leading government-backed trade delegations has been instrumental in strengthening ties between key industries and policymakers. I have had the privilege of facilitating high-profile missions from Saudi Arabia to Australia, including collaborations with the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources. These delegations have unlocked opportunities in critical sectors such as mining, manufacturing, and advanced technologies—paving the way for innovation and mutual growth.
I have also led delegations from Australia to the UAE, where they were hosted by the Dubai Economy. These missions have allowed Australian companies to showcase their strengths in renewable energy, education, and agriculture while exploring the UAE’s vast investment opportunities and its strategic position as a global trade hub.
Within Saudi Arabia, my efforts have enabled Australian businesses to engage with Vision 2030 initiatives, fostering partnerships in industries such as construction, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and logistics. To date, I have helped over 500 companies explore new markets and establish strong bilateral trade and investment ties. My commitment to building cross-border bridges continues to drive economic growth and create long-term opportunities for businesses in these regions.

Aussie Expo:
A Game-Changer for Bilateral Trade

I envisioned the Aussie Expo as a transformative platform that would redefine how nations engage in trade, investment, and innovation. Inspired by Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and my commitment to strengthening Australia’s economic ties with the Kingdom, I conceptualised and led the first-of-its-kind event, bringing together industry leaders, policymakers, and investors to explore new business frontiers.
Held under the esteemed patronage of His Excellency Bandar AlKhorayef, Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, and endorsed by Senator the Hon Don Farrell, Australia’s Federal Minister for Trade and Tourism, the Expo became a historic milestone in bilateral relations. It united over 1,500 attendees, 40 leading exhibitors, and 35 prominent speakers, representing key industries such as mining, advanced manufacturing, education, healthcare, and renewable energy.
The Expo not only showcased Australia’s innovation and sustainability leadership but also provided businesses with unparalleled access to Saudi Arabia’s rapidly growing market. With strong government backing from both nations, it became a symbol of cooperation, ambition, and shared economic vision.

From securing high-level endorsements to curating an impactful program, I ensured the Expo’s success, setting a global precedent for international trade collaboration. This initiative has not only facilitated meaningful business partnerships but also laid the groundwork for future bilateral trade opportunities. With the continued support of industry and government leaders, the Expo remains a defining moment in strengthening economic ties between Australia and Saudi Arabia.

Meeting with HRH Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal
One of the greatest honours of my career so far, being invited to the office of His Royal Highness Prince AlWaleed bin Talal Al Saud, the richest man in the Middle East and one of the world’s most respected investors and philanthropists.
His Royal Highness is the visionary force behind iconic investments such as Four Seasons, Citibank, Uber, X (formerly Twitter), Rotana, Accor Hotels, VOX Cinemas, FlyNas and more a true pioneer in global business.
What struck me most was not just his business acumen, but his humility, his warmth, and his openness in conversation. A gentleman whose reputation precedes him, yet whose presence is disarmingly down-to-earth.
Beyond business, His Royal Highness has always championed philanthropy and progress, with a forward-thinking spirit that continues to shape the region and the world.
Saudi–ANZUK Forum 2025: Strengthening Global Partnerships Under Vision 2030
In October 2025, I had the privilege of leading and hosting the Saudi–ANZUK Forum 2025 in Riyadh through the Trademark Group of Companies, in partnership with the Australia Saudi Business Council & Forum (ASBC/F).
The Forum brought together ministers, mayors, and business leaders from Saudi Arabia, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, uniting under one shared purpose — to strengthen international collaboration and advance the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030.
Over two incredible days, we explored opportunities across innovation, healthcare, education, logistics, manufacturing, and women’s empowerment, with inspiring contributions from global leaders.
This experience reinforced my belief in the power of international cooperation to drive economic transformation, innovation, and long-term growth across nations.
Signing a Strategic Partnership Between Trademark Group and Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB)
I’m proud to have formalised a strategic partnership between Trademark Group of Companies and Saudi Awwal Bank (SAB) — a milestone that strengthens the financial and trade bridge between Australia and Saudi Arabia.
This agreement builds on the momentum of our Vision 2030 Insights Forum in Sydney, where Tony Shaw, CEO of HSBC Australia & New Zealand, and Tony Cripps, CEO of SAB, shared powerful insights into the Kingdom’s transformation and its growing alignment with Australia’s investment and innovation sectors.
Through this partnership, we aim to enhance bilateral cooperation across finance, technology, and enterprise growth, enabling cross-border capital flow and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
This collaboration reflects my ongoing commitment to connecting markets, empowering business relationships, and creating long-term value between Australia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Supporting the Largest Saudi Health Delegation to Australia
I was privileged to play a leading role in supporting the largest ever Saudi health delegation to Australia, led by His Excellency Fahad AlJalajel, Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the Australia Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F).
The delegation included senior representatives from across the Saudi health ecosystem, such as the Health Holding Company, National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, and engaged with leading Australian stakeholders in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. Key meetings were held with St. John Ambulance Victoria, eClinic Victoria, Monash University, CSL, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and UNSW, with discussions centred on strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange across the health sector
I also had the honour of hosting a high-level Roundtable for His Excellency the Minister of Health, convening senior leaders to explore new opportunities for partnership between both nations. The visit further resulted in the signing of several strategic MOUs between Australian and Saudi stakeholders, reinforcing cooperation in healthcare, research, and innovation
Signing a Landmark MOU with NUPCO
I had the honour of signing a landmark strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on behalf of the Australia Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F) with the National Unified Procurement Company (NUPCO), witnessed by His Excellency Fahad AlJalajel, Saudi Minister of Health.
This milestone marked a significant advancement in strengthening trade and investment ties between Australia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It created a trusted platform for Australian pharmaceutical and healthcare companies to access the Saudi market, unlocking opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and commercial growth.
Through this partnership with NUPCO—the Kingdom’s leading healthcare procurement and logistics provider—I was able to help establish a framework that expands the presence of Australian health products and solutions in Saudi Arabia, while creating long-term, sustainable partnerships that benefit both nations.
Strengthening Education Partnerships with Saudi Arabia
I was honoured to host His Excellency Yousef Al Benyan, Minister of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and a distinguished delegation as part of their official visit to Australia through the Australia Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F).
The delegation engaged with leading Australian universities, vocational institutions, and training providers, exploring Australia’s strengths in higher education, technical skills development, and research collaboration. These exchanges highlighted the alignment between Australia’s globally recognised education sector and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambitions to build a world-class education system.
I was also privileged to convene a dedicated Roundtable for His Excellency the Minister of Education, bringing together senior Australian stakeholders to share expertise and explore opportunities for joint initiatives across early childhood education, tertiary learning, and workforce development.
This visit underscored the importance of education as a foundation for innovation, skills, and long-term prosperity. I extend my sincere thanks to our partners and stakeholders who contributed to this successful engagement, helping to lay the groundwork for deeper collaboration between Australia and the Kingdom in the years ahead.

Briefing the Australian Prime Minister on Trade Achievements

Following the success of the Aussie Expo, I was honoured to present the event’s outcomes to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and senior cabinet members in Canberra. This high-level meeting underscored the transformative impact of the Expo in advancing Australia-Saudi trade relations and highlighted the wealth of opportunities that had emerged from the initiative.
With the support of Australian-Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F) Ambassador, the Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon GAICD, my team and I showcased the Expo’s role in fostering bilateral collaboration. These discussions solidified trade ties between Australia and Saudi Arabia, opening new avenues for investment, innovation, and long-term economic partnerships.
This engagement reinforced the importance of strong international economic relationships, aligning with both nations’ strategic objectives for growth and resilience. By facilitating direct dialogue between government and business leaders, we set the stage for sustainable development, industry expansion, and strengthened trade policies that will benefit businesses in both regions.
This milestone further established my role as a key driver of global trade and investment, committed to delivering meaningful economic outcomes for Australia, Saudi Arabia, and beyond.

Pioneering High-Level Ministerial Engagements

As part of my ongoing efforts to enhance international business collaboration, I led a landmark ministerial webinar, bringing together:
This historic dialogue marked the first-ever joint discussion between these high-ranking officials, focusing on expanding bilateral trade opportunities between Australia and Saudi Arabia.
The webinar served as a strategic platform to align Australia’s vast resources sector with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic diversification goals. By facilitating this exchange, I was able to highlight key synergies in mining, minerals, and advanced technologies, strengthening the foundation for long-term business partnerships
Navigating cross-border relations and bringing influential stakeholders together is a core part of my work. This initiative underscored my ability to foster high-level collaboration, advancing economic growth and innovation in both regions
Elevating Australia’s Construction Industry on a Global Stage
As Global Chairman of Trademark Group, I am proud to lead Australia’s official representation at Big 5 Global, the world’s largest construction industry event. This partnership is a significant milestone for Australia’s construction sector, strengthening its connection to the global infrastructure market and unlocking new opportunities for investment and collaboration.
In a landmark agreement, I formalised this partnership alongside the Vice President of DMG Events, with NSW Trade and Investment Commissioner, Mr. Moin Anwar, in attendance. This appointment followed the highly successful Investment NSW and Australian-Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F)-led delegation to Big 5 Construct Saudi, where 12 leading NSW companies showcased their capabilities on an international stage
With Australia’s construction sector poised for global expansion, my team and I are committed to ensuring the success of this initiative. By working closely with the New South Wales government, we continue to strengthen Australia’s international presence in infrastructure development, driving new investment opportunities and fostering industry excellence.

Bringing Sobha Realty to Australia

As part of my vision to expand global business connections, I am pleased to welcome Sobha Realty, one of the UAE’s top three developers, as an executive member of Trademark Group of Companies
This partnership marks a major step in Sobha Realty’s expansion into Australia, leveraging Trademark Group’s extensive business network to establish high-value industry connections and unlock new investment opportunities
Sobha Realty has set global benchmarks in luxury real estate, and its entry into the Australian market aligns perfectly with Trademark Group’s mission to drive cross-border investment and international business growth
Through this collaboration, Sobha Realty gains access to strategic partnerships and a robust business platform, reinforcing its presence in the Australian market while contributing to the strength of Trademark Group’s executive business community.

Strengthening
Australia–Qatar Trade Relations

During his mid-term visit to Australia, His Excellency Shane Flanagan, Australian Ambassador to Qatar, visited the Trademark Group Headquarters in Sydney
An executive roundtable was held with key members to examine opportunities for expanding bilateral trade and investment between Australia and Qatar, identify priority growth sectors, and strengthen commercial links across both markets
This engagement contributed to advancing dialogue and fostering stronger economic cooperation between the two nations.

Strengthening
Australia–Saudi Trade Relations

As part of our ongoing commitment to strengthening Australia–Saudi relations, I hosted a dynamic and forward-looking event through the Australian-Saudi Business Council and Forum (ASBC/F), spotlighting the evolving trade horizons and emerging investment opportunities between our two nations.
The event welcomed The Hon. Anoulack Chanthivong MP, NSW Minister for Industry and Trade, whose reflections on Australia’s economic vision and international engagement added significant depth to the discussion
It also featured the virtual participation of Mr. Moin Anwar, New South Wales Trade and Investment Commissioner to the Middle East, and Mr. Atif AlOthri, Saudi Commercial Attaché to Australia and New Zealand, both providing valuable insights into bilateral trade and strategic collaboration.
His Excellency Meshare Ben Naheet, Consul General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Australia, attended in person, reinforcing the commitment to further developing bilateral relations
A New Chapter in Australia–UAE Collaboration
This year marks 50 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and the United Arab Emirates, a milestone that reflects decades of growing cooperation, trust, and shared ambition between our nations.
During this significant year, I had the privilege of seeing an important moment unfold as Trademark Group of Companies signed a landmark agreement with the National Bank of Fujairah. The partnership marks the first agreement of its kind between an Australian entity and an Emirati bank, creating new opportunities for deeper financial and business collaboration.
For me, moments like this are a reminder of how relationships between countries evolve through conversations, partnerships, and shared goals. The agreement follows the recent signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement led by Don Farrell, which has opened the door to stronger trade and investment ties between our two countries.
Our partnership with the National Bank of Fujairah represents a practical step toward helping Australian businesses confidently explore opportunities across the Gulf region. At Trademark Group, we are proud to contribute to this growing relationship. By connecting businesses, investors, and institutions, we hope to continue building bridges between Australia and the GCC — supporting a future defined by collaboration, innovation, and shared economic growth.
Hosting the Riyadh Municipality Delegation in Australia
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Mayor of Riyadh, I had the privilege of hosting the f irst-ever municipal delegation from Riyadh Municipality to Australia, led by His Excellency Hussain Al-Sudairy.
This visit marked an important milestone in strengthening engagement between the Kingdom and Australia. Over the course of the week, the delegation participated in a series of meetings and site visits focused on urban development, sustainability, digital transformation, and the future of modern city living.
A highlight of the program was the warm welcome at the NSW Parliament, where Sophie Cotsis shared valuable perspectives on the state’s priorities and policy landscape. We were also grateful to Jihad Dib for providing insights into digital government and the evolution of public services.
The delegation also connected with local government leaders, including Ned Mannoun and Michael Zaiter, whose perspectives on city growth, infrastructure, and community development enriched the exchange of ideas.
Industry engagement was equally important, with leaders such as Tony Lombardo sharing insights into large-scale precinct development and innovation, alongside discussions around major infrastructure initiatives, including Western Sydney International Airport. Each engagement added meaningful depth to the visit, reinforcing the growing collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Australia and laying the groundwork for stronger partnerships in the future of urban development.
Driving International Collaboration in Saudi Real Estate
It was a pleasure to engage with the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing as Saudi Arabia continues to accelerate one of the most ambitious real estate and infrastructure transformations underway anywhere in the world.
Today, the Kingdom has more than USD 1 trillion in real estate and infrastructure projects either planned or currently underway, with the housing sector alone expected to exceed USD 300 billion in value by 2030. These developments reflect the scale and momentum of the country’s long-term transformation under Saudi Vision 2030.
One of the most encouraging indicators of this progress is the rise in home ownership across the Kingdom. Since 2016, the national home ownership rate has grown from around 47% to more than 63 percent, with a target of 70% by 2030. Rapid population growth, increasing urbanisation, and the emergence of large-scale giga projects across cities such as Riyadh are continuing to drive demand for residential, mixed-use, and master-planned communities.
During my meeting with His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Real Estate Development, it was clear that there is a strong interest in working with experienced international developers who can contribute to the next phase of the Kingdom’s growth.
The scale of opportunity within Saudi Arabia’s real estate sector is remarkable, and it continues to present meaningful prospects for global partners seeking to participate in the delivery of projects aligned with Vision 2030.
Team Australia’s Strong Presence at FMF 2026
It was a great honour to be welcomed by Bandar AlKhorayef at this year’s Future Minerals Forum 2026. His Excellency’s continued support for Australian businesses over the past few years has made a meaningful impact on strengthening the bilateral relationship between Australia and Saudi Arabia as well as the collaboration between the Australian Saudi Business Council & Forum (ASBC/F), and ESNAD | داـ ـ, sincerely thank Khalid Almudaifer and Miles Armitage for creating such an incredible global platform that continues to elevate the mining and resources industry on the international stage. I also want to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) team, particularly Mr Abdulmonem Hakmi and Mr Andrew Lockie, for their leadership and dedication throughout the Forum.
Congratulations as well to the Queensland Government, Trade Commissioner Kassem Younes, and the University of Queensland for signing a separate MOU with the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, establishing long-term education and skills pathways between our nations.
Finally, I want to thank all stakeholders across the entire ecosystem who played a pivotal role in presenting a strong, united front for Team Australia. We now look forward to building on this momentum and returning even stronger for Future Minerals Forum 2027, continuing to advance bilateral trade, investment, and collaboration in the mining and resources sector.
High-Level Bilateral Meeting with Australian Trade Minister
It was an honour to participate in a high-level bilateral meeting during the historic visit of Don Farrell to Saudi Arabia, alongside Dr Majid AlQasabi and counterparts from the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), and the Australian Embassy.
The meeting provided a valuable platform to discuss trade, investment, and strategic collaboration between our nations. It highlighted the shared ambition to deepen bilateral ties and explore emerging opportunities across key sectors, reinforcing the trust and cooperation between our institutions.
Being part of these discussions offered unique insight into the priorities, vision, and perspectives shaping Australia–Saudi engagement. It was a privilege to engage directly with senior leaders on both sides and contribute to conversations that will shape future initiatives, particularly in areas aligned with Saudi Vision 2030.
In my role as President of the Australia Saudi Business Council, I am particularly proud that within the past six months, we have facilitated two ministerial delegations from Saudi Arabia to Australia, and now welcomed an Australian ministerial delegation to the Kingdom. This reflects the trust between our institutions, the strength of our bilateral relationship, and the shared ambition on both sides to deepen long-term collaboration.
Moments like this demonstrate the importance of active engagement, strategic dialogue, and long-term partnership. High-level meetings such as this set the stage for sustained economic growth, stronger trade relations, and expanded opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries. They also underscore the growing momentum in our bilateral relationship — momentum that is reinforced through each delegation, partnership, and shared initiative.
Inside Jahez: Hosted by Chairman Prince Mishal
It was a privilege to be hosted by His Royal Highness Prince Mishal bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud alongside Joel Fitzgibbon for a thoughtful discussion on leadership, innovation, and the evolving technology landscape in Saudi Arabia.
His Royal Highness is Chairman of Jahez Group, one of the Kingdom’s most successful homegrown technology companies. Jahez has become a standout example of the rapid growth taking place within Saudi Arabia’s digital economy, scaling quickly while reshaping the country’s food delivery and logistics ecosystem.
A defining milestone in the company’s journey came with its January 2022 IPO on the Saudi Exchange Nomu market, which valued the business at approximately SAR 8.9 billion. At the time, it represented the highest market capitalisation at listing on Nomu, highlighting the increasing maturity and ambition of the Kingdom’s technology and capital markets.
Our discussion offered valuable insight into how national technology champions like Jahez are contributing to the transformation of Saudi Arabia’s economy while strengthening the country’s global engagement.
It was an inspiring exchange of perspectives on entrepreneurship, innovation, and the opportunities emerging as Saudi Arabia continues to build a dynamic and globally connected digital economy.
Hosting a Bilateral Health and Economic Engagement in Riyadh
It was a pleasure to host a bilateral meeting in Riyadh between Fahad AlJalajel and the Honourable Danny Pearson, alongside Matt Carrick and Gönül Serbest.
The meeting, supported by Andrew Lockie, Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), provided a valuable forum to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade, investment, and collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Australia.
I look forward to the positive outcomes of this engagement and to the continued success of working not only with our federal ministers, but also closely with our state ministers and national agencies, to ensure a true Team Australia approach in strengthening bilateral trade and investment between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Australia.
Building a Sustainable Australia–Saudi Corridor
The momentum between Australia and Saudi Arabia continues to accelerate. With Australia’s trade with the GCC and broader Middle East now exceeding A$30 billion annually, this region has become one of the most important growth corridors for Australian exporters.
Saudi Arabia, given its scale, population, and pace of economic transformation, is emerging as the central anchor for long-term regional engagement. While goods frequently transit through neighbouring hubs, the Kingdom represents the largest end market opportunity in the Gulf, fully aligned with the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030 and its drive to diversify, localise, and industrialise the economy.
Following the recent visit of Don Farrell, I have seen firsthand the foundations of a stronger ecosystem designed to unlock deeper two-way trade and investment flows between our nations, particularly across the Middle East and Africa corridor.
My recent meeting with the Governor of the Saudi General Authority of Foreign Trade reinforced the Kingdom’s genuine commitment to expanding bilateral trade. The level of alignment from the Saudi trade office signals that the next phase of Australia–Saudi cooperation will be strategic, structured, and highly impactful.
This collaboration extends far beyond trade volumes. It will support supply chain resilience, new investment pathways, job creation, and industrial development across priority sectors, including food security, critical minerals, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing. What we are building is not transactional access, but a sustained corridor of cooperation with measurable economic and strategic outcomes for decades to come.
